I ♥ Faces [Motherhood]

This week’s Photo Challenge is Motherhood. I had a wonderful session with a beautiful family this weekend, and mom is expecting her third child. We lucked out with a break in weather, lovely overcast light, and a gorgeous location.

I love the feeling in this photo with mom’s hand on her oldest daughter.  This picture says “motherhood” to me.  🙂

Mi Familia

I love that my 4-year old asked me the other day, “Mama, do you know what Mi Familia means?  It means My Family.”

This is My Family.

Baby Brilhart [Newborn Photographer | Sequim, WA]

I absolutely love what I do. I couldn’t imagine things getting any more exciting or fulfilling in this line of work… until I shot my first newborn session. Up until now, I have had the unbelievable privilege of photographing babies, toddlers, kids, teens, adults, families, you name it, and I always feel so energized and wonderful after these sessions. This was a different experience, and it’s hard to explain why. This beautiful baby was born less than a week before this photo was taken, and it’s a different experience. Holding a brand new baby and creating images that are so peaceful in nature just makes my heart swell. I know. Cheesy and mushy. But it’s true.

Look what this beautiful mama created.

Marina Portraits with the Busch Family [Family Portrait Photographer | Port Angeles, WA]

I had a really fun session last weekend with the Busch family.  It was sunny outside, but that didn’t mean it was warm!  The Busch family was so wonderful, you’d never know that their bones were probably freezing that day.

They have a family boat, so it was a great location for them. They have a lot of memories here, and it was a fun place to shoot!

Kaitlyn’s toothless smile was so adorable and contagious!

My First Drawing ~ for Mother’s Day!

Okay, I’m going to try my hand at a drawing.  Why?  Well, one, because Mother’s Day is coming up, and as a mom, I want to help celebrate all of the wonderful moms out there!  And two, because I want to let everyone know about the new package I’ve put together!

Just for Kids Mini-Digi Package

This package is designed for kids only, so mom and dad can relax and not worry about what they’re wearing!  Mom, you don’t even have to do your hair or put on make-up!  😉  I will capture who your child is (or who your children are) so that you can remember this time in their lives in a fun, easy-going, and simple way.  The digital negatives are included in this package, so you can print, share, and scrapbook ’til your heart’s content!  This is what it includes:

  • 45 minute session at the outdoor location of your choice (in the Port Angeles and surrounding area) for up to 3 children in your immediate family
  • 12-15 fully edited images on CD
  • Value: $250

A Beautiful Place to Ski

Last weekend, my daughter entered the Citizens Races at Hurricane Ridge.  It was beautiful, and it was a great day to go up to the mountain.  Both our girls had been taking ski lessions there, and they had so much fun eating skittles, drinking hot chocolate, and of course, learning to ski.

How did my daughter do?  She did great!  She got a silver medal!  Granted, there were two girls in her age group, but still!  We couldn’t have been more proud.

Here’s my family after the race.
